The magic on living things, this is the magic used by priests and druids. This magic is called upon by the means of small prayers to the relevant god with the spell request weaved into it. These prayers can be done at any way you like, this depends on how you are comfortable doing it very simply, aiding things such as offerings or so of course also make it easier.
The magic on dead things, this is the magic used by the sorcerers and some others. This magic is called upon by shaping the God-given powers the right way so the wanted result happens. What the right form is to shape it in depends to your god and to your own style of doing magic. Your style is also what determines in what way you perceive these shapes.
